Primary Function and Purpose: 

The primary function of the role is to support the reliable and effective use of the IT systems in use at Astrea by all end users, including the design and build of new joiner equipment at a time of extensive growth, additional activities will include, but will not be limited to; 

  • Monitoring and alerting 
  • Administration of user permissions and administration 
  • Managing SSO and Passwords 
  • Managing Files and permissions 
  • Defining usage policies and procedures 
  • Installing and maintaining software (Office, Adobe) 
  • User training and knowledge transfer 
  • Security awareness 

Principle Responsibilities:
  • Building, managing and maintaining end user equipment 
  • Provide ongoing support to Astrea end users 
  • Maintain user administration within active directory and office 365/Azure 
  • Working with the Head of IT on projects that involve improving end user experience and managing and maintaining company security 
Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience in IT 
  • Past experience administering a windows server and desktop/laptop networked environment 
  • Capable of administering a windows Active Directory and office 365 domain 
  • Ability to prioritize and wide range of workloads with critical deadlines 
  • Excellent problem solving skills 
  • Patient and Professional demeanour, with a can-do attitude

  • Project Management 
Working Conditions:
  • We work in a mixed environment of traditional office space with Industrial environments, engineering workshops, plant rooms and production areas. 
  • There may be a need to travel infrequently to other Astrea sites such as the Isle of man, or Boston MA

Physical Requirements:
  • There will be a need to carry some IT equipment, Laptops and Monitors, keyboards and mice when configuring new users desks 
  • The role will require periods of sitting at a desk, standing with users and moving from different areas of the building which may involve the addition of wearing lab-coats and goggles 
  • There may involve some travel to other Astrea sites in the UK, Isle of Man, Boston US, Biotage as necessary
